Course Plan & Tuition

LIFE students audit college-level courses in their chosen area of interest. As a UL LIFE student, the student will enroll in a UNIV 100 course with all UL Lafayette first-time freshman. Beginning the second semester, UL LIFE devotes more time to developing an area of interest based on LIFE student’s career goals to audit university courses of their choosing. LIFE students also take two LIFE courses taught by UL LIFE Staff in all four areas of our program.

Like any other college student, LIFE students' class times vary based on selected coursework. LIFE students are full-time university students and audit between 12-15 hours per semester, meaning 4-5 classes. Along with university and LIFE courses, students also participate and are scheduled for LIFE sessions such as LIFE Skills Lab, Social Skills, and Sex Education.

At program completion, LIFE students receive a Certificate of Achievement from the UL Lafayette College of Education and Human Development for completing their individualized goals and required hours.
